Chicks may dig the long ball, but the Yankees need to vary up their attack, according to new hitting coach Alan Cockrell.
Cockrell didn’t discuss any specific players, but said he feels the Yankees need to be less homer-dependent next year.
“There needs to be a little added dimension to us offensively, and we have the guys in place to do that,” he said Wednesday on a conference call.
Cockrell, who will work with assistant hitting coach Marcus Thames, became the third Yankees hitting coach in as many seasons Tuesday.
