NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — History is on the horizon.
Alex Rodriguez is now three hits from 3,000 after going 2-for-2 in the Yankees’ 2-1 victory over the Marlins on Wednesday.
The 14-time All-Star now has 2,997 for his career.
But as the polarizing slugger nears yet another milestone, he insists he’s remaining calm and just taking it day by day.
“I’m relaxed and I’m having a good time,” the 39-year-old said.
Don’t think for a second, though, that Rodriguez isn’t looking forward to joining the illustrious 3,000-hit club.
