NEW YORK -- Aaron Hicks blasted his 20th home run of the season in the first inning of Thursday's game against the Rangers at Yankee Stadium, further extending his career high.
With two outs and a runner on first, Hicks sent a 92.6-mph fastball from Rangers starter Ariel Jurado a Statcast-projected 395 feet into the second deck in right field to give the Yankees an early 2-0 lead.
Hicks is the fourth Yankee to reach 20 homers this season along with Giancarlo Stanton (27), Aaron Judge (26) and Didi Gregorius (20), leading all Major League clubs this season.
