' colorful campaign for the Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote, which included giving people in New York free subway rides, came up short on Thursday, when the Yankees' shortstop finished third in the AL balloting.
Two third basemen won the Final Vote for the first time in the competition's 16-year history, and both of them did so in distinct fashion. Justin Turner of the Dodgers set an all-time record with 20.8 million votes, and Mike Moustakas (15.6 million votes) of the Royals became the second player to win the competition two times. They are now officially on the rosters for the 88th All-Star Game presented by Mastercard on Tuesday at Marlins Park.
