The 22-year-old hit .348 with a league-leading 10 runs batted in. Bird is highly regarded as the best hitter in the Yankees system and he has shown just that since his July 3 promotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. On August 5, Bird had his best game of the season, mashing a pair of two-run home runs as well as getting a double.
