Goose Gossage: Yankees must deal Aroldis Chapman — now

COOPERSTOWN — Yankees Hall of Fame closer Goose Gossage is all for trading current Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman. Asap.

“They have to,” Gossage told The Post. “I thought it was pretty ridiculous to have three one-inning guys. You really don’t need three.”

Gossage owns 310 saves. So he knows something about the position. Chapman is a beast who owns 166 career saves and surely could be a difference-maker down the stretch for a true contender. The Yankees could deal Chapman at a moment’s notice and improve for the future, and such a move makes sense on many levels.
