Gleyber Torres to undergo season-ending Tommy John Surgery

As if this past week could not get any worse for the Yankees, who are currently in the midst of a six-game losing streak, the organization is now dealing with the loss of their No. 1 ranked prospect, Gleyber Torres. The 21-year-old has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, and will miss the remainder of the 2017 season. Torres is expected to be ready for spring training in 2018.

Torres suffered the injury on an ugly slide into home during the Railriders’ game on Saturday. Torres immediately grabbed his elbow in pain, and ultimately left the field under his own power.
