TORONTO — Gleyber Torres returned to the lineup Sunday at shortstop when Didi Gregorius was given the day off against the Blue Jays.
Torres missed the previous four games with what the Yankees are calling a core issue.
“I don’t know exactly what the terminology is,’’ Aaron Boone said of his All-Star second baseman who went for tests in New York last Sunday and again Wednesday. “He is having a core issue.’’
Torres went 0-for-3 and was involved in two double plays the Yankees turned in the eighth and ninth innings of a 1-0 win.
