NEW YORK (WFAN) — In his weekly segment with WFAN’s Mike Francesa on Wednesday, Yankees manager Joe Girardi marveled at flame-throwing closer Aroldis Chapman.
According to MLB.com’s Statcast, Chapman hit 105.1 mph on the radar gun Monday night against Baltimore. He threw four other pitches that night that surpassed 104.
“One of the most incredible things that I have seen in the game of baseball is when I watch him warm up and how quick his arm is,” Girardi said.
Not only can Chapman throw extremely hard, he’s a gamer who has said he wouldn’t mind pitching in five straight games.
