For the Yankees, the long shadow of the injury specter apparently extends to the end of the season. Third baseman Gio Urshela departed from Tuesday night’s game in the seventh inning after getting hit by a pitch earlier in the evening.
Urshela took a 94 mph sinker off the left hand hand in the sixth inning. He was in noticeable pain while at first base, and the YES cameras caught his hand bruising in real time. The third baseman talked his way into remaining in the game, playing third base in the bottom half, but he was out in the seventh inning.
