The black cloud of injuries continues to loom over the Yankees. During Sunday afternoon’s game against the Giants, both DJ LeMahieu and Gio Urshela departed from the field with apparent injuries.
LeMahieu exited in the third inning with right knee inflammation. He fouled a ball off his knee a couple days ago, but the X-rays came back clean. The 30-year-old has been one of the most productive players on the team, hitting .310/.363/.430 (110 wRC+) with elite-caliber defense.
Urshela, meanwhile, got drilled in the hand by a Nick Vincent fastball.
