Giancarlo Stanton is out of the Yankees lineup for Game 3.
Stanton was replaced by Aaron Hicks against Astros starter Gerrit Cole. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Stanton is available off the bench.
Stanton suffered the right quadriceps strain while running out an infield single early in Game 1 of the ALCS, and sat out the Game 2 loss in Houston. The former MVP is the lone Yankee on the roster to have homered off Cole, a Cy Young candidate who has won his past 18 decisions. Stanton is 3-for-10 against Cole, with one home run in his career.
