LOS ANGELES -- Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson both homered in their return from lengthy injury absences Friday night, but the New York Yankees fell 8-4 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opener of a three-game interleague series.
Stanton, playing in his first game since April 15, hit a 417-foot shot to center field in the fourth inning. Donaldson hit two homers in his first game since April 5: a 446-foot shot in the second and a two-run homer in the ninth.
"Felt nice to have some pretty quality ABs today," Donaldson said.
