Giancarlo Stanton will get back into the ALCS with the Yankees on the brink of elimination.
The oft-injured slugger, who has been battling a quad injury that’s kept him out of the lineup since Game 1, will hit in the fourth spot as the DH in Game 5 against the Astros on Friday night.
To make room in the lineup for Stanton, manager Aaron Boone with put Edwin Encarnacion on the bench.
Stanton ran the basepaths shortly before Game 4 at Yankee Stadium, though he did not make an appearance.
“He was better today,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone had said Thursday of Stanton.
