TORONTO — There will be no Home Run Derby for Giancarlo Stanton, if he wins the Final Vote and is selected to the All-Star Game in Washington.
Asked by The Post after Sunday’s 2-1, 10-inning win over the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre about competing in the Derby, the Yankees slugger said, “I don’t think so. I don’t want to. I’ve done it plenty of times, take a year off. Take two years off.’’
Stanton, a four-time All-Star, won the Derby in 2016 in San Diego.
Aaron Judge is out of the Derby as well because he does not want to hurt the Yankees’ chances in the second half, if he were to injure himself.
