ARLINGTON, Texas — When Domingo German took Jordan Montgomery’s spot in the rotation and didn’t allow a hit and struck out nine in six innings of his initial major league start, the uninformed loudmouths predicted the Yankees were in good hands.
Now, after two ugly starts by the right-hander, the Yankees may not have the luxury of waiting until Montgomery makes it back from a strained left elbow, which was scheduled to keep him out six-to-eight weeks.
