Gary Sanchez suffers groin injury during extra innings Yankees-Twins game

The Yankees and Twins played a wild game last night. Domingo German got rocked to the tune of eight earned runs, the Bombers took the lead in the ninth and subsequently blew it, but won in extras anyway.

In between all the drama, they also suffered an injury, because of course they did. Gary Sanchez exited the game in the eighth inning with an apparent injury. It was originally believed to be an ankle injury, but it’s a groin issue according to Lindsey Adler.

The Yankees catcher will be sent for an MRI today, and an IL stint is probably in his future.
