Another day, another trip to the injury list for the Yankees.
The team announced on Friday that Gary Sanchez was placed on the 10-day IL with a calf strain, retroactive to April 11. The Yankees called up Kyle Higashioka in a corresponding move, and he will back up Austin Romine.
Sanchez had an up-and-down season, belting six home runs to go along with throwing woes that led to four errors in the field.
Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Hicks, Miguel Andujar and Troy Tulowitzki are also currently on the IL.
