MINNEAPOLIS -- Gary Sanchez rounded the bases to celebrate the longest home run seen at Target Field this season and the Yankees poured it on by sending 12 men to the plate in a six-run seventh inning, charging to a 7-2 victory over the Twins on Monday evening.
Sanchez's titanic 460-foot shot reached the third deck in left field, supporting another masterful outing from J.A. Happ. The veteran left-hander spun six scoreless innings of six-hit ball, improving to 6-0 with a 2.70 ERA through eight starts as a Yankee.
Including last year's American League Wild Card Game, the Yankees have now won nine consecutive games against the Twins, dating to last September.
