Former Yankees slugger Edwin Encarnacion signing with White Sox

Former Yankees slugger Edwin Encarnacion is in agreement with the White Sox on a one-year, $12 million contract, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported Wednesday.

The news comes just two days following the funeral of Encarnacion’s father.

Encarnacion hit 13 home runs in 44 games with the Yankees after being traded from Seattle last season, and finished with 34 total, marking the eighth straight season he hit at least 30 home runs.

But after a pair of significant injuries and ineffective postseason, the Yankees declined their $20 million option and bought Encarnacion out for $5 million.
