Former New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi on Domingo German: ‘Gosh is he good now’

One of the more effective players for the New York Yankees on the mound this year has been Domingo German. His stats have been good for the most part. German’s posting an 11-2 record with a 3.40 ERA through 15 games, 14 of which are starts. German is also holding a 1.049 WHIP with 90 strikeouts and 19 walks.

The veteran righty has pitched 82.0 innings pitched thus far in 2019, and it appears like the Yankees may want to give him an innings limit to keep him fresh for the postseason. Former Bombers manager Joe Girardi appeared on WFAN with Mike Francesa on Tuesday and expressed how the 130-140 innings range is what the Yanks should aim for.
