That former Yankees manager Joe Girardi says he wants to be back in the dugout for a MLB team should not shock anyone.
That he would be willing to return in a capacity other than manager is a bit of a surprise.
Girardi said as much on Monday in an interview with the New York Daily News, when asked if he wanted to be a big-league manager again:
"No, that hasn't changed. I loved every minute of it. I've had a chance to do it 11 years in my life (10 seasons with the Yankees and one with the Marlins).
