NEW YORK — Former Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was CNBC's "Squawk Box," Wednesday morning, confirming some news we've been hearing for a while:
Some day he wants to own a Major League Baseball team.
But the game, he said, is losing traction among kids to football and basketball, partly because kids see so many players go from high school and college to the NFL and NBA and star right away, whereas in baseball usually even the top prospects need a year or two of minor league development.
"Some of the other sports are the sexy sports," Jeter told CNBC.
