CHICAGO — Matt Holliday’s blood test came back without red flags, but the Yankees’ designated hitter didn’t feel well enough to play for a third straight game Tuesday night against the White Sox.
“He is really not much better, he says he feels bad,’’ said manager Joe Girardi, who used Tyler Austin as the designated hitter against lefty Jose Quintana. “I said, ‘What exactly does that mean? Is that like you are achy, muscles are sore?’ He said, ‘I feel like someone zapped me out of all my energy.’ The blood work has come back fine, and we are still trying to figure it out what is going on.
