Entertaining Loss Doesn’t Dim Luster of Yankees’ Opening Month

Aaron Judge launches another moonshot. The rotation turns increasingly from a question mark to an exclamation point. And every day seems to produce a different hero for the Yankees. All of which raised a question Sunday morning for General Manager Brian Cashman: How long can they keep this up?

“Can’t I just enjoy it?” Cashman asked.

Cashman may not have enjoyed the result at Yankee Stadium on Sunday afternoon, a 7-4 loss in 11 innings to the Baltimore Orioles, but even still, it came in an entertaining fashion.

The Yankees were done in when Mark Trumbo and Welington Castillo hit run-scoring singles off reliever Bryan Mitchell in the 11th; another run came home when the Yankees botched a rundown.
