One day after I explained why he might still be in Tampa, the Yankees moved 1B Adam Lind up to Triple-A Scranton, the team announced. Go figure. I don’t know why anyone ever listens to me. Anyway, Lind hit .429/.484/.607 (214 wRC+) with a homer in eight games for Tampa. He can opt out of his minor league deal on June 1st and July 1st.
Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (5-4 loss to Pawtucket)
- SS Tyler Wade: 2-5, 1 R — 6-for-21 (.286) in his last five games, so he is kinda sorta showing some signs of life
- 2B Thairo Estrada: 1-5, 2 RBI, 1 K, 1 SB
- CF Clint Frazier: 1-4, 1 3B, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 SB — here’s video of the triple
- 1B Mike Ford & DH Kyle Higashioka: both 0-4, 2 K
- PH Adam Lind: 1-1, 1 RBI
- RHP Chance Adams: 6 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 HR, 11/3 GB/FB — 59 of 98 pitches were strikes (60%) … even with the two homers, it’s nice to see some ground balls
- RHP Brady Lail: 1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 0 K, 0/1 GB/FB — 16 of 33 pitches were strikes (48%), though, to be fair, one of the walks was intentional … had three walks total in his previous five appearances and 11.
