The wife of beloved late Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer said a ceremonial jersey, given to her by the Bombers, was swiped out of her Florida-bound checked luggage.
Soot Zimmer attended Old Timers’ Day at Yankee Stadium last month when the team gave her a replica of Zim’s jersey.
But when Soot returned home to Florida, the jersey was gone.
“When it was missing out of the luggage when we got home, it wasn’t the monetary value, it was the sentimental value [lost],” the widow told WTSP. “They [the Yankees] gave me that to represent Don and now I don’t have it.
