MOOSIC, Pa. — Domingo German is ready to close the Yankees’ opener chapter.
A day after Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated the 26-year-old could return to the rotation next week, German (left hip flexor strain) used a slick breaking ball to retire the first six batters he faced Thursday in a rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
German unraveled a bit in the third inning, giving up a pair of two-run home runs — four runs total through four innings. He was credited with a no-decision as SWB salvaged a 6-4 win in the first leg of a doubleheader against Buffalo.
