Dombrowski hire is latest proof Red Sox are true ‘Evil Empire’

On the way out the door, Larry Lucchino needs to look in the mirror and ask who is the Evil Empire now?

The Red Sox’s outgoing president got a lot of mileage from labeling the Yankees as the ultimate enemy of the state more than a decade ago. But in the time since, which organization has really been more like the Boss-run Yankees with radical flip-flops in philosophy, the chasing of shiny objects and instability in the ranks?

This is not to suggest that the Yankees are a bastion of propriety and steadiness. But it is hard to ignore that since 1992, they have had just three managers and three GMs, and they found a way to keep their Core Four and more intact for the most part.
