While DJ LeMahieu at first base provides the Yankees with their best infield defense, Aaron Boone isn’t going to shy away from using Edwin Encarnacion if he wants to move LeMahieu to third base.
“I’d be comfortable with Edwin at first. I feel like he’s healthy and sound, feel like he plays a pretty good first base, so yeah, I would always be comfortable going that way if there was the right situation,’’ Boone said before his club worked out at Yankee Stadium on Thursday.
