New York Yankees shortstop has been trying to work his way back to the Major League roster after undergoing Tommy John surgery this past offseason.

On Monday afternoon, Gregorius took a huge step in the right direction regarding his rehab.

George King of the New York Post tweeted Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner was on hand to watch Gregorius play shortstop in an extended Spring game. Gregorius had five at-bats, notching two hits and a walk. The 29-year-old shortstop also manned three ground balls while committing a throwing error.
