NEW YORK — Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he didn't know the details of an ESPN report that described starting pitcher CC Sabathia possibly drunk at Camden Yards on Friday until he read the story.
The report from ESPN reporter Wallace Matthews said Sabathia was seen "offering a paper cup containing a brown liquid to a teammate," and urged the teammate to "take a sip."
The report also said that the 35-year-old, who checked into a rehabilitation facility Monday, was seen "walking unsteadily" and that he was "ushered out of the building and into a waiting cab by a third teammate.
