Some in the Yankees world may not consider it a milestone, but reaching 660 home runs is still something special for Alex Rodriguez and his teammates.
Rodriguez entered Monday night’s series opener against the Rays one home run from tying Willie Mays with 660 career home runs, the fourth-best in baseball history.
“That’s a crazy number,’’ outfielder Chris Young said. “It would take me like 40 years to do that. It’s great. There are a lot of huge accomplishments you can see as players through the years and this is one.
“Some day we will look back at all this and realize how impressive it is.
