DETROIT — When Derek Jeter became part of the Marlins’ new ownership, some people around the Yankees believed the Yankees’ icon and future Hall of Famer wouldn’t be back at Yankee Stadium for quite some time.
They may be right.
Though the Marlins will be in The Bronx for two games on Monday and Tuesday nights, Jeter won’t be in the building.
Jeter told the Miami Herald going to the Stadium would be an “awkward situation.’’
Giancarlo Stanton was back in the DH spot Friday night and though Boone said he would like to rotate the lineup slot, expect to see Stanton there often.
