Derek Jeter just received a pretty memorable birthday present from New Jersey — an induction into the state’s Hall of Fame.
The longtime Yankees captain, who turned 41 Friday, was one of the 13 inductees announced. The Pequannock, N.J., native compiled 3,465 hits and won the World Series five times in his 20 seasons in New York.
Jon Stewart, the host of Comedy Central's satirical political program "The Daily Show," was also among honorees, as were musical group Kool & the Gang, ESPN commentator Dick Vitale and late New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg.
