NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Derek Jeter says he not only wants to someday own a major league team, he also wants to help increase the sport’s popularity.
The Yankees great told CNBC on Wednesday he recognizes that baseball is not as popular with younger generations.

“I think baseball is taking somewhat of a back seat to some of the other sports,” said Jeter, who retired in 2014. “And in my mind, I think this is the greatest sport in the world.
