Dellin Betances will be out for at least three months

Dellin Betances’ comeback has been shut down for at least three weeks.

The Yankees reliever will receive a cortisone injection Saturday to treat inflammation around an existing bone spur in his throwing shoulder, general manager Brian Cashman said Friday night.

Betances has had the bone spur in his right shoulder since the Yankees signed him, Cashman said, but it had never been an issue.

The 31-year-old was rehabbing a right shoulder impingement in Tampa and struggled in a simulated game Thursday. He flew back to New York Friday for another MRI with dye contrast, which revealed the inflammation near the bone spur.
