Dellin Betances is looking human at the worst time for Yankees

BALTIMORE — Joe Girardi got the ball to Dellin Betances to start the eighth inning, just as he wanted to do, but the right-hander’s ill-timed control problems continued in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Orioles at Camden Yards.

Betances gave up the winning run thanks to a wild pitch in an inning that left both the pitcher and his manager shaking their heads.

“A jam shot, two wild pitches and a bunt,” Girardi said of Baltimore’s winning rally. “He didn’t get hit. … What are you gonna do? It’s unfortunate. It’s kind of how the night went.
