TAMPA — The speed gun fraternity was buzzing Tuesday after Dellin Betances’ velocity fluctuated between 88 and 91 mph against the Braves at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
“Was Betances hurt? How about the arm angle?
Wednesday, Betances said he was healthy, and Aaron Boone said he wasn’t concerned.
“Early in spring training it takes time for me to get going,’’ the Yankees’ eighth-inning reliever said inside the Yankees’ clubhouse before a 9-5 loss to the Cardinals. “I am not worried about it. It’s been a topic for a couple of years in the spring.
