Dellin Betances alarm bells start early in Yankees crusher

TORONTO — Tyler Austin brought the Yankees back twice with home runs, but the hole Dellin Betances placed his club in by giving up a solo homer and a steal of home in the eighth inning was too steep of an incline.

Austin homered in the fifth and seventh to tie the score, but former Yankee Yangervis Solarte’s leadoff homer in the eighth lifted the Blue Jays to a 5-3 win over the Yankees on Saturday in front of 37,692.

The injury curse continued to haunt the Yankees. Left fielder Billy McKinney ran into the left-field wall in the first inning and suffered a sprained AC joint in the left (throwing) shoulder that forced him out of the game.
