Darryl Strawberry did not have to be in New York to hear the calls of baseball fans Monday, he just knows what happens when a baseball star in New York admits he is human and needs help. The former Mets and Yankees star, who battled addiction himself, was just happy that CC Sabathia could admit he needed help battling alcohol addiction.
"Most importantly, I am happy for CC, for his family that he took this big first step in fight against a serious disease," Strawberry said by phone Monday. "I am praying for him and glad he is getting the help he needs to deal with this difficult disease of addiction.
