Brian Cashman is at peace playing it both ways when it comes to holding his cards or laying them down as the July 31 trading deadline approaches.
“I am comfortable being aggressive and comfortable passing on what other clubs want [from the Yankees],’’ the general manager said Thursday.
With the 48-40 Yankees’ season resuming Friday night against the hapless Mariners at Yankee Stadium, Cashman doesn’t view his team, which leads the AL East by three lengths, as a finished product.
“I like our club,’’ Cashman said. “Can we be better? Of course. But with the [players] people are coming after it’s easier to say no.
