Confident Michael Pineda delivers in Yankees' beatdown of Red Sox

NEW YORK -- Yankee Stadium, full on Thursday night for a series finale against the Boston Red Sox, erupted when Michael Pineda induced a groundball to second base that ended a scoreless seventh.

The Dominican righty came up big once again in the Yankees' 9-1 whipping of the Red Sox.

Coming off a rare poor outing in Toronto last Friday night, Pineda rebounded by going seven strong and allowing just an unearned run and four hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

He's now 7-3 on the season, which is huge for the Yankees .
