Comcast says no to YES, drops network

The tradition of a cable giant battling a sports programmer, with fans caught in the middle, is alive and well.

Comcast pulled the plug on the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network early Wednesday morning after the two couldn’t reach agreement on a new deal.

And the issue is money, not whether the Yankees can add a marquee player to their roster.

Comcast contends Fox, which owns 80% of YES (the Bombers own the other 20%), wants an unreasonable increase, which could be as high as 33%.
