Clemens says Hall of Fame plaque would feature Red Sox cap

Roger Clemens won two World Series titles with the Yankees, but the steroid-stained star says he hopes his Baseball Hall of Fame plaque will feature a Red Sox cap if he is ever elected to Cooperstown.

“It would obviously be a Boston hat,” Clemens said Thursday during a radio interview with The Sports Hub in Massachusetts. “That’s where I got my start and my nickname. That’s where I grew up.”

Clemens won a record seven Cy Young Awards during his 24-season Major League Baseball career, but Hall of Fame voters have rejected his bid for baseball’s highest honor because of allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs during much of his career.
