As the Yankees look for answers at first base with Mark Teixeira out for at least three weeks with torn cartilage in his right knee, Chris Parmelee made a bid for more playing time in his first start of the season.
Parmelee hit a game-tying home run that reached the second deck to lead off the bottom of the sixth against Jered Weaver and hit another home run in the seventh in the Yankees’ 12-6 win over the Angels on Wednesday night.
The sixth-inning blast sparked a four-run rally as the Yankees won for the third straight time.
