New York Yankees’ left-handed reliever Chasen Shreve hopes to return from the disabled list in the near future.
Shreve has been on the DL since May 26 following an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.
On Tuesday, Shreve attempted to throw 20 pitches from the mound, all fastballs, with his injured shoulder to gauge how he was feeling. He threw another 20 pitches on Thursday, mixing in a variety of pitches, and indicated that his shoulder has felt fine. He will make his first rehab outing on Sunday afternoon as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders face the Columbus Clippers.
