Chase Headley doesn’t know if he’ll be able to return to the lineup this weekend in Boston, but the calf injury that has sidelined him for two games showed significant improvement Thursday.
“It’s a lot better,” Headley said following the Yankees 6-2 win over the Athletics in the Bronx. “It’s very encouraging.”
Despite the improvement, Headley was limited to just riding a stationary bike for 20 minutes.
“I’m hoping we can be more aggressive [Friday],” Headley said. “They wouldn’t let me do much of anything today.”
And he’s been around long enough to know the Yankees tend to be cautious.
