TAMPA, Fla. -- New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman has worked a perfect inning in his first extended spring training game.
Chapman is working out at the Yankees' minor league complex in Florida while serving a season-opening 30-game suspension stemming from baseball's new domestic violence policy.
Pitching on Derek Jeter Field in an extended spring camp game Wednesday, the left-hander got a broken-bat grounder from Yankees' prospect Carlos Vidal and struck out Estevan Florial and Jared Mitchell on 3-2 pitches.
Chapman, who regularly tops 100 mph with his fastball, reached 98 during a 15-pitch outing.
