The team is stuck paying him $50 million over the next two years and instead of pushing him out this year, they had planned to put together a six-man rotation just to keep him around. Conveniently, the knee acted up again and he ended up on the disabled list. It seemed like his career might be over until Yankees general manager Brian Cashman declared otherwise:
